Blessed Imbolc!

From page 41 of Llewellyn’s 2024 Planner. A little about Imbolc…

Imbolc, usually falls on February 2nd with Ground Hog Day, is the halfway point between Yule and Ostara on the wheel of the year. During Imbolc, many regions are still in the grip of the snow and cold, but all around us are signs that the season is beginning to change.

Daylight hours lengthen, crocuses nudge their way through still frozen earth and snow. Even the twilight of early evening begins to show signs of change. Dusk lingers. Darkness doesn’t fall as suddenly as it did a month ago.

Mark this Sabbat by honoring the signs of nature’s changes. Upon your altar, place a package of seeds. Meditate on how something as small as a seed will bring forth the sign of a changing season and the power of life force renewed. If you don’t have a garden, do this meditation by using a small new house plant. Tend it and think of nature’s changing signs as it grows.

It may still snow, but the signs at Imbolc tell us the life force of Earth is eternal.

How will you celebrate Imbolc? What will you do to honor the signs of nature’s change?
