Based on the energies of the day, the moon phase and the zodiac the moon is in…

Void of Course to Scorpio
Good Friday

Combining the lessons in my Moon Magic course and The Moon and the Zodiac course, we are able to identify the best, strongest and most potent days to work magick to help bring us closer to our goals, protect us, or help rid things that no longer serve our highest purpose.

So – With the knowledge of those courses within us – here’s how today’s energies align… May you find a way to work with today’s energies to help you get closer to your goal, achieve what you desire, protect yourself or rid things that no longer align with you.

Good Friday – Today has a strong spiritual significance to so very many in the world and I would be remiss to not honor this day.
Today, marks the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ, representing the ultimate sacrifice for the forgiveness of human sin and the manifestation of divine love.

Ultimate Sacrifice and Redemtion – Christians believe Jesus, as the Son of God, willingly took on the sins of humanity, suffering in their place to reconcile mankind with God.

Demonstration of Divine Love – Good Friday demonstrates the depth of God’s love, illustrating that God used a moment of Darkness to bring about salvation.

Atonement and Victory – While a day of sorrow, it is seen as a victory over sin and death, not a defeat. It is the necessary prelude to the resurrection, establishing the hope of eternal life.

Reflection and Conversion – It serves as a call for believers to reflect on their own lives, turn away from sin and enter into a deeper repentance.

Compassion and Mercy – It invites Christians to participate in the suffering of Christ through fasting, prayer and acts of compassion uniting their burdens with his.

With that covered, I must also highlight the Pagan gods noted to also have died and resurrected.

Osiris (Egyptian) He was murdered and dismembered by his brother Set. His wife, Isis, gathered his pieces and brought him back to life just long enough to conceive their son, Horos. The Aftermath – Osiris didn’t return to the world of the living; instead, he became the eternal Lord of the Underworld and the judge of the dead.

Dionysus (Greek) In the Orphic tradition, Dionysus (as Zagreus) was torn apart by Titans. His heart was saved, and he was reborn through Semele or Zeus. The Connection – He is a god of wine and vegetation, and his “death and rebirth” mirrored the cycle of the grape harvest. His followers practiced rituals involving the symbolic consumption of his body and blood (wine).

Attis (Roman) was a consort of the mother goddess Cybele. Driven mad, he castrated himself and bled to death under a pine tree. In many versions, he was “reborn” or preserved so that his body would not decay, and his resurrection was celebrated annually during the Hilaria festival in Rome.

Inanna/Ishtar (Sumarian/Babylonia) The Queen of Heaven descended into the underworld to confront her sister, Ereshkigal. She was struck dead and her corpse was hung on a hook.
The Resurrection – after 3 days, she was revived with the “water of life” and the “food of life” and ascended back to the upper world.

Baldur (Norse) The most beloved of the gods, Baldur was killed by a mistletoe spear through the trickery of Loki. While he does not return to life immediately, Norse prophecy states that after Ragnarok (the end of the world), Baldur will emerge from the underworld to rule over a new, green earth.

Now – while these parallels are fascinating, the key differences between these examples and the Christian narrative are:
Nature of Rebirth – Pagan “Rising” gods are often tied to agricultural cycles, seasons. While Jesus Christ represented a singular historical event.
Purpose – The Pagan “Rising Gods” stories are used to ensure fertility or explain the afterlife. While Jesus Christ’s story’s purpose was to provide atonement for sin.
Physicality – The Pagan “Rising Gods” often remain in the underworld or is “reconstituted”. While Jesus Christ’s death was followed by physical resurrection and eventual ascension.

Note that many of the pagan myths predate Christianity by centuries, which leads to long-standing debates about “syncretism” – the way different cultures influence each other’s religious stories over time.

Day – Friday lends energies to efforts around Romance, love, friendship, dating, pleasure, partners, unions and fertility.

Zodiac – The moon starts out Void of Course today. By 8:11am ET, the moon moves into Scorpio. The Moon in Scorpio lends energies to sexual matters, power, psychic growth, secrets and fundamental transformations.

Moon – The moon is in a Waning Gibbous. This energy lends towards efforts of discarding, banishment, and releasing the things which no longer serve your highest purposes. When the moon goes waning, our intentions have to be set just so that we are achieving what we want, not working against ourselves.

So today – You can combine the Waning Moon with Friday and Scorpio to focus on removing, banishing, releasing, dismissing or letting go of anything that is negatively impacting/affecting our efforts towards fertility, our sexual health, our overall merriment.

That could be anything – physical, health related, emotional, mental – take time to really think about what in this area you need to let go of, find it – specifically identify it. Then tell it you don’t need it anymore – let it go. If it’s a physical thing, make a point to take it straight out to the garbage. Let. It. Go. If its an emotional or mental thing – write it down. Talk to someone. Make an appointment with someone to help you work through it.

Magickal ways to remove, banish, dismiss things:

Stir your drinks – when you stir your coffee or tea, stir it counter-clockwise (widdershins) this is the movement of dismissal and banishment. When you do this, you’re going to think of the thing you want to banish or dismiss. Imagine it fading out of your life until there’s nothing left but the swirling liquid in your cup and your reflection.

Burn it away – write it down on a small scrap of paper, fold the paper in half, folding it away from you. Fold it again – away from you. Fold it a third time – away from you. Then – while practicing fire safety – hold it over a candle, let it catch the flame and then put it in a fire safe dish/bowl to burn out. (Fire safety: I use a long tweezers to hold the paper over the flame so I don’t burn myself, and a cast iron mini cauldron with a cover, placed on a heat resistant coaster, to let it burn out. I also open the windows to let the smoke out)

Blow it out – Light a candle, and stare into the flame – imagine the thing you need to banish/dismiss burning in the flame – and when you feel ready – blow it out. Just like a candle on your birthday cake. With all the force of your lungs – blow it out.

Whatever you choose to do today, be clear with your intention and mindful with your words. Happy Manifesting!
