Based on the energies of the day, the moon phase and the zodiac the moon is in…

Capricorn

Combining the lessons in my Moon Magic course and The Moon and the Zodiac course, we are able to identify the best, strongest and most potent days to work magick to help bring us closer to our goals, protect us, or help rid things that no longer serve our highest purpose.

So – With the knowledge of those courses within us – here’s how today’s energies align… May you find a way to work with today’s energies to help you get closer to your goal, achieve what you desire, protect yourself or rid things that no longer align with you.

Friday the 13th – Let’s talk about it… Lack of knowledge results in fear. So lets address that.

The roots of Unlucky 13th:
1) The Last Supper: In Christian Tradition, there were 13 people at the table – Jesus and his 12 apostles. The “13th guest” was Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Jesus. This led to a long-standing folk belief that having 13 people at a dinner table was a death omen for the first person to rise.
2)Norse Mythology: A similar “uninvited guest” story exists in Viking lore. Twelve gods were having a party in Valhalla when the trickster god Loki arrived as the 13th guest. He engineered the death of Balder, the god of joy, plunging the world into darkness.
3) The “Twelve” Standard: Mathematically and culturally, 12 was seen as a number of “completeness” 12 months, 12 zodiac signs, 12 hours on a clock… etc. Adding one more felt like a disruption of the natural order – the “initial step toward evil”.

The roots of Unlucky Friday: Before it was paired with the 13th, Friday had its own baggage.
1) The Crucifixion: In the Bible, Jesus was crucified on a Friday (Good Friday).
2)Historical Taboos: For centuries, it was considered bad luck to start a new journey, get married, or begin a new project on a Friday. In some circles, it was even known as “Hangman’s Day” because executions often took place then.

When the two collided: The first written references to “Friday the 13th” as a uniquely cursed day appeared in the 1800s.
1) 1834 – A French play called Les Finesses des Gribouilles mentions a character born on a Friday the 13th who blames all his misfortunes on the date.
2) 1869 – A biography of the composer Gioachino Rossini noted that he died on a Friday the 13th, remarking on how “remarkable” it was since he had spent his life fearing both Fridays and the number 13.
3) 1907 – The superstition went “viral” thanks to Thomas Lawson’s novel Friday, the Thirteenth, which told the story of a stockbroker who used the date’s bad reputation to cause a Wall Street panic.

A note on the Knights Templar: You may have heard that the superstition started when King Philip IV of France arrested the Knights Templar on Friday, October 13, 1307. While that event actually happened, historians generally agree that people didn’t link it to the modern “Friday the 13th” superstition until the 20th Century.

What do I believe? I believe in the energy. Its not just about the day or the date, it’s about the total combined energy. If the vibes don’t feel right, I lay low. It’s that simple.

Day – Friday lends energies to efforts around Romance, love, friendship, dating, pleasure, partners, unions and fertility.

Zodiac – The moon in Capricorn lends energies to efforts around organization, ambition, recognition, career and political matters.

Moon – The moon is in a Waning Crescent. This energy lends towards efforts of discarding, banishment, and releasing the things which no longer serve your highest purposes. When the moon goes waning, our intentions have to be set just so that we are achieving what we want, not working against ourselves.

So today – We are going to tap into that Waning Crescent. We are going to protect ourselves today. Put on your stones, amulets and pendants. Burn your comfort incense or candles.

We want to use this energy to push away, remove, release, banish, discard and dismiss any negative vibes, energies or any one or any thing that is negatively impacting our efforts to live, grow and thrive; to become aligned with our highest self.

You can proceed to work with Friday’s energies and or Capricorns energies as well.
Friday points to romance, love, friendship – general end of week merriment.
Capricorn points to ambition, organization and career/political matters.
Whichever area is relevant to you – feel free to use the Waning moon to clear your path and remove things blocking your way.

Whatever you choose to do today, remember to be clear with your intentions and mindful with your words. Happy Manifesting!
