Merry Christmas
Combining the lessons in my Moon Magic course and The Moon and the Zodiac course, we are able to identify the best, strongest and most potent days to work magick to help bring us closer to our goals, protect us, or help rid things that no longer serve our highest purpose.
So – With the knowledge of those courses within us – here’s how today’s energies align… May you find a way to work with today’s energies to help you get closer to your goal, achieve what you desire, protect yourself or rid things that no longer align with you.
Day – Thursday lends energies to efforts involving socializing, traveling, gambling, religious pursuits, foreign interests, luck, achievements, and self improvement.
Zodiac – The moon in Pisces lends energies towards efforts involving sexual matters, power, psychic growth, secrets and fundamental transformations
Moon – The moon is in the Waxing Crescent phase now which lends energies towards drawing in, manifesting, luck, growth, increasing and attracting things we desire.
Pagan Traditions found in Modern Day Christmas Celebrations
Many Christmas traditions have roots in pagan festivals like the Roman Saturnalia and Germanic Yule which both celebrate the winter solstice. These celebrations occured around the same time as Christmas, including feasting, gift-giving and decorating with evergreen boughs and holly, much like Modern Day Christmas customs.
*Feasting, Merrymaking and Gift-Giving: Both Saturnalia and Yule involved large public banquets and the exchange of gifts.
*Decorating with greenery: Evergreens were used to symbolize life and light during the winter, leading to the practice of bringing them indoors.
*Mistletoe: The use of mistletoe is associated with the Druids who believed it had magical and protective properties, and it symbolized peace and renewal.
*Holly: Holly was also used as a decoration for it’s symbolic meaning which is protection, good luck and eternal life.
*Christmas Caroling: The tradition of going door-to-door singing to neighbors has roots in the Anglo-Saxon practice of “wassailing” which involved singing to banish evil spirits and wish good health.
So today – I would be remiss if I didn’t comment on the alignment today.
Today is Christmas Day. The Christian celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Jesus is often represented by the symbol of a fish. Pisces is also a fish. Thursday’s energetic focus is very “religious persuit” focused, Pisces energetic focus is on secrets and fundamental transformations.
This is not a coincidence. If you look around, there is a kind of religious renaissance happening (hate to comment on society and such but there it is) both of pagans and of christians. Personally, I dont care WHAT you believe in, …just believe.
So today – perhaps spend the day reflecting on the many layers of meaning that today represents. I’d say do something spiritually focused, maybe engage in some of the historical traditions of today/this season. One way to manifest, is to actively engage in what you are looking to manifest. Don’t just be there to be there and check a box. Be present, be engaged, listen to understand.
Whatever you choose to do today, remember to be clear with your intent and mindful with your words. Merry Christmas, and Happy Manifesting!
